04/09/23 (Agence Europe) – The Cypriot authorities sent the European Commission, on Friday 1 September, a revised version of their post-Covid-19 recovery plan, which includes a ‘REPowerEU’ chapter designed to speed up the energy transition and reduce dependence on Russian fossil fuels. The measures put forward are designed to promote energy sobriety through greater energy efficiency in buildings, ‘clean’ mobility, the deployment of renewable energies and the modernisation of the electricity grid. In total, the revised Cypriot plan will be financed to the tune of €1.22 billion, of which €1.02 billion in the form of grants and €200 million in the form of soft loans.
