Transition of EU partner countries and Niger on agenda of informal meeting of European development ministers in Cadiz

04/09/23 (Agence Europe) – The development ministers of the EU Member States have been invited to Cadiz (at the Palacio de Congresos) on Tuesday 5 September for an informal meeting chaired by the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell. Niger will be on the agenda, as it was at the informal meetings of the defence and foreign affairs ministers (see EUROPE 13240/3, 13239/4). The ministers could also discuss: - the ‘triple transition’: digital, green and social; - the reform of multilateral development banks (see EUROPE 13175/3); - the situation in Palestine. A videoconference exchange is planned with the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Chair of the United Nations Sustainable Development Group, Amina Mohammed of Nigeria, whom the Spanish Presidency of the EU Council has chosen to invite.
