On Wednesday 21 June, the European Commission announced that it was authorising the placing on the EU market of seven imported GMO varieties tolerant to the herbicides glyphosate or glufosinate for food or feed use.
These authorisations mainly concern Bayer’s transgenic maize and soybeans and products containing them, whether this is a first authorisation or a renewal of authorisation.
