The European Ministers for the Environment and Climate, meeting in council in Luxembourg on Tuesday 20 June, held a policy debate on the proposal for a regulation aimed at establishing CO2 emission standards for new heavy commercial vehicles (see EUROPE B13121A1).

The aim of the proposal is to further reduce CO2 emissions in the road transport sector in order to bring the regulations into line with the European Union’s climate objectives. The emission reduction targets for 2030 will be...
