20/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 20 June, the Foreign Minister of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, whose country holds the Chair of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), called for a de-escalation of the tensions and violence that have been taking place in northern Kosovo since 26 May (see EUROPE 13191/6). “I have contacted the Serbian and Kosovar foreign ministers. I reiterated my call for urgent appeasement in the municipalities of northern Kosovo. It is crucially important that Serbia grants immediate access to the detained officers and releases them” he said, referring to Serbia’s arrest of three Kosovar policemen on Serbian territory (see EUROPE 13204/14). Pristina claims that they were abducted and denounces an “act of revenge”. “I also stressed the need for Kosovo and Serbia to respect the international community’s roadmap for de-escalation”, added the Macedonian minister.
