09/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – The Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers reminded the Russian authorities, on Thursday 8 June, of their obligation to comply with the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights in all cases concerning events occurring before 16 September 2022 and to pay the corresponding “just satisfaction”. A “Register of just satisfaction concerning the Russian Federation” has been created, announced the Committee of Ministers. It concerns 1,200 cases, including the two interstate cases of Georgia v. Russia. As of 5 June 2023, the outstanding amount was more than €2.2 billion, of which approximately €1.87 billion related to the Yukos case and €11,525,068 due in the first Georgia v. Russia.
