09/06/23 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 8 June, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) announced the launch of a public consultation on its forthcoming report on cross-border capacity in the EU electricity markets in 2022, which will be published on 21 July 2023. The purpose of this report is to discuss the use of network elements, barriers and potential solutions, to highlight the importance of maximising cross-zonal trading for efficiency and decarbonisation, and to assess progress towards achieving a transmission capacity target of at least 70% for this cross-zonal trading by 2025. The public consultation will take place from 21 July to 15 September 2023, to gather contributions from various stakeholders. ACER will then issue a formal opinion with recommendations to the European Commission and the European Parliament by November of this year. To see the consultation page: https://aeur.eu/f/7dz (PLD)
