MEPs approve conclusion of new EU/Mauritius agreement

25/05/23 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 24 May, the European Parliament’s Committee on Fisheries gave its approval to the conclusion of the new fisheries agreement between the EU and Mauritius. The report by François-Xavier Bellamy (EPP, French) on this dossier was adopted with 26 votes in favour, none against and one abstention. This agreement allows the EU fleet to fish for tuna: 5,500 tonnes for 40 purse seiners, 45 surface longliners and authorised EU auxiliary vessels (see EUROPE...
