EU Council ready to negotiate on 30 May with European Parliament on recast of controls system

On Wednesday 24 May, the Committee of Permanent Representatives of Member States to the EU (Coreper) accepted the mandate presented by the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the EU for negotiations to be held on Tuesday 30 May with the European Parliament over the proposal to revise controls on fishing operations.

The Swedish Presidency presented proposals for a revised mandate on all the important issues still to be negotiated, such as margins of tolerance and recreational fisheries...
