European Commission authorises Spanish aid measure of €837 million to produce batteries for electric vehicle sector

The European Commission announced on Thursday 11 May that it had authorised a Spanish aid scheme worth €837 million to support the production of batteries for the industrial chain of electric and connected vehicles.

The aid is aimed at companies that produce batteries, their essential components and associated raw materials. This aid will be distributed until 31 December 2025 in the form of direct grants and loans.
