EIT and European Commission take step forward to train Europeans in disruptive technologies

28/03/2023 (Agence Europe)On Tuesday, 28 March, the European Commission reported that a first wave of seven organisations had committed to join the Deep Tech Talent Initiative. The aim of this joint initiative—launched by the European Commission and the EIT on Tuesday, 11 October—is to train one million Europeans in deep tech, those technologies that combine science and engineering (see EUROPE 13040/11). It is the European Commission and the EIT’s ambition to achieve this by 2025. The European Commission emphasised that the initiative is aimed at all levels of education and that it pays particular attention to groups that are underrepresented in this field, such as women. According to the EIT, the commitment made by these seven initial partners is expected to make it possible to train 500,000 people. Link to the list of organisations: https://aeur.eu/f/63b (EV)
