On Friday 24 March, the European Commission adopted two multi-annual work programmes under the Digital Europe Programme, with a total budget of €1.3 billion.
Looking at the details, the first of the two programmes will benefit from a budget of €909.5 million for the 2023–2024 period. It will focus on the deployment of projects using digital technologies such as supercomputers, data, artificial intelligence, cloud computing and advanced digital skills.
€375 million will be allocated to the second work programme for the same period. This programme will focus on cyber security issues.
The European Commission also specified that the allocated budgets should represent half of the funding required for the selected projects and that the remaining 50% should be financed by “other sources”.
The first calls for project funding will be launched in the spring, before being published “after the summer”, said the European Commission. (Original version in French by Thomas Mangin)
