13/03/23 (Agence Europe) – The EU27 Ministers for Employment and Social Affairs discussed, on Monday 13 March in Brussels, the process, launched more than two years ago, of ratifying the International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention 190 on Eliminating Violence and Harassment in the World of Work. While some countries have ratified this tool or are in the process of doing so, some Member States have expressed difficulties over the past two years with the Commission’s choice of an EU Council decision to ratify, as not all of them necessarily want a legal instrument. While all Member States reiterated their support for the Convention on Monday, according to one source, they asked the Swedish Presidency of the EU Council to find pragmatic solutions to make the ratification a success and to address the concerns raised.
