European Parliament calls again for release of Alexei Navalny

16/02/23 (Agence Europe) – MEPs called, on Thursday 16 January, for the release of several political prisoners in Russia, including the 2021 Sakharov Prize winner Alexei Navalny, who could face trial in the spring on new charges. In the joint resolution adopted by the Greens/EFA, S&D, EPP, Renew Europe and ECR groups (497 votes in favour, 17 against and 33 abstentions), MEPs demand that pending their release, these prisoners be held in conditions that comply with Russia’s...
