08/02/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 8 February, the European Commission launched a public consultation on the future of cross-border mobility for learning purposes. Although this is one of the cornerstones of the European education area (see EUROPE 13115/16), only 15% of young people have undertaken training in another EU country, the institution estimates. The aim is to ask citizens and stakeholders from all educational sectors (pupils, apprentices, teachers, universities, vocational training, youth workers, sports staff, etc.) about the main obstacles to mobility. This feedback will feed into the update of the EU Mobility Framework, planned for the third quarter of 2023. The consultation will be open for 12 weeks.
