08/02/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 8 February, the European Commission approved positive preliminary assessments of Slovakia’s request for €709 million in grants (excluding pre-financing) and the Czech Republic’s request for €928 million in grants (excluding pre-financing) under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). Slovakia submitted a payment claim on 25 October, and the Czech Republic did the same on 25 November. The Slovak plan will be supported by €6 billion in grants. The country already received €823 million in October 2021 as pre-financing and €399 million in July 2022. The Czech plan will be supported by €7 billion in grants (with an additional €640 million in grants available on request). €915 million was paid out in September 2021 through pre-financing. (CG)
