17/01/2023 (Agence Europe) – Insurance products with sustainability features were both better performing and cheaper than their counterparts without sustainability features in 2021, the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) said in its report on past costs and performance, published on Tuesday 17 January. The report aims to improve transparency in the sector, facilitate comparisons between similar products and strengthen the EU Capital Markets Union. EIOPA’s analysis of over 1,000 insurance-based investment products showed that these products benefited from the post-pandemic market recovery and offered positive returns to investors in 2021. While net returns in 2021 were generally high, inflation is expected to weigh on consumers’ real returns in the future. To view the report: https://aeur.eu/f/4xh (AD)
