Additional €24.5 million under REACT-EU for Outermost regions in France

11/01/2023 (Agence Europe)On Wednesday 11 January, the European Commission approved additional funding under REACT-EU for the French Outermost regions. They will receive €24.5 million to support education, employment and the green transition. More specifically, in Martinique, €9.1 million from the European Social Fund (ESF) will be devoted to job search for young people and €4 million to apprenticeship through the development of professional experience in companies. Guadeloupe and Saint-Martin will receive, for their part, €8.2 million from the ESF to help young people acquire professional skills. Finally, Saint-Martin will receive €7.2 million from the ERDF to improve its public infrastructure. The Commission had allocated €40 billion in total in 2021 and has dispersed €3.5 billion in pre-financing to Member States since March 2022 under REACT-EU. (HS)
