11/01/2023 (Agence Europe) – The leaders of the 44 European countries that form the European Political Community (EPC) will meet for the second time in this format on 1 June in Chișinău, Moldova. Spain and the UK have indicated their availability to host subsequent summits, which are supposed to take place every 6 months. The inaugural summit of the EPC, an idea launched by French President Emmanuel Macron partly in response to Russian aggression in Ukraine, was held in Prague last October (see EUROPE 13037/1). The objective of the EPC is to create a political forum between European countries around unifying projects, without replacing the enlargement process. (MB)
