Digital platform workers, Czech Presidency of EU Council forced to hand over file to Swedish Presidency

The EU ministers for employment and social affairs failed, on Thursday 8 December, to agree on a mandate for the directive on improving conditions for workers on digital platforms.

The Czech Minister of Employment, Marian Jurečka, had to note at the end of the day that “the qualified majority was not reached”. The dossier will therefore go to the Swedish Presidency of the EU Council. 

Several countries continued to oppose the text despite the latest adjustments made during the day....
