02/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – On the occasion of the official launch of the electoral campaign for the 20 November presidential, legislative and municipal elections in Equatorial Guinea, the EU stresses that it is crucial that the conditions for peaceful, inclusive and transparent elections and respect for the rule of law are ensured by the authorities and all political actors. “The citizens of Equatorial Guinea have the right to participate in an open, free and peaceful electoral process, and to exercise - with no restriction or discrimination of any kind - their freedom of expression, peaceful assembly and association, in full compliance with international human rights norms”, the spokesperson of the European External Action Service (EEAS) said in a statement on Wednesday 2 November.
