25/10/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 24 October, the European Commission launched a contribution period regarding a draft implementing regulation to improve the security of online data exchange in relation to the certificates of conformity within the context of the Motor Vehicle Type Approval Regulation 2018/858 (see EUROPE 12549/10). More specifically, this initiative sets out the relative requirements for electronic systems used by manufacturers and EU countries to share data in order to prevent unauthorised access and alteration of data, ensure an appropriate level of data protection, and to avoid duplication of messages and data elements that are shared.
