18/10/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Construction Alliance 2050, which brings together major European players with an interest in the construction sector, calls for leniency for companies “not aligned” with the taxonomy’s rules, in a press release issued on Tuesday 18 October. For the Alliance, a company’s sustainability should not be assessed solely on the basis of its eligibility for the taxonomy. “Non-alignment must not lead to discriminatory practices from investors and cut off companies from financing” at a time when the sector is facing unprecedented challenges (the energy crisis, material prices, labour shortages, etc.), the Alliance believes. Therefore, non-alignment should not deprive manufacturers of construction products and construction companies of funding. To read the Alliance’s position paper again: https://aeur.eu/f/3nv (PH)
