29/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 29 September, the European Commission opened its third round of calls for proposals under the €200 million Digital Europe Programme for the 2021-2022 period. Of this amount, €170 million will be used to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) platform to facilitate access for businesses and public administrations to AI tools, cloud-to-edge infrastructures to enable data processing at the edge of the network, and investment in specialised education programmes in advanced digital technologies. The remaining €30 million is earmarked for the European Digital Innovation Hubs, which support small and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups in the EU. The deadline for this call is 16 November. Two further calls have already taken place, in November 2021 and February 2022. (TM)
