23/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) published its weekly epidemiological report on Covid-19 in the European Union and the European Economic Area on Friday 23 September. The ECDC notes that recent increases in SARS-CoV-2 transmissions in some States are spreading. Currently, increases have been reported in 13 of the 26 countries covered by the notifications. Effects were reported on hospital and intensive care unit indicators. The ECDC states that the absolute value of these indicators remains low, as do the impacts reported so far on mortality. The ECDC believes that population mixing during the summer is the cause of these increases. It also states that there is currently no indication that these increases have been caused by changes in the distribution of circulating variants. Link to the report: https://aeur.eu/f/38s (EV)
