Czech Presidency of EU Council’s first draft compromise on ‘REPowerEU’ plan

On Wednesday 14 September, the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union submitted to the Member States a first draft compromise on the European Commission’s proposal to amend certain parts of the Renewable Energy Directives (RED II - 2018/2001), the energy performance of buildings (EPBD - 2010/31) and energy efficiency (2012/27).

Presented on 18 May, the Commission’s proposal is part of its plan to move the EU away from total dependence on Russian fossil fuels by 2027...
