13/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 13 September, the European Commission launched a call for proposals to finance European transport infrastructure projects with a €5 billion package under the Connecting Europe Facility. “In light of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, the call will also support projects to modernise border crossings to facilitate the transport of goods between the EU and Ukraine along the solidarity lanes - the lifelines of the Ukrainian economy”, Transport Commissioner Adina Vălean explained. As a reminder, these projects developed along the trans-European transport network (TEN-T) should, inter alia, enable the EU to achieve the objectives set for reducing transport-related emissions by 90% by 2050.
