Next Competitiveness Council should address SMEI and Ecodesign Regulation

EU Internal Market and Industry Ministers are expected to hold a policy debate on the Single Market Emergency Instrument (SMEI) and the Ecodesign Regulation at the Competitiveness Council on 29 September.

The debate on SMEI will be the first following the presentation by the European Commission next week in Strasbourg (see EUROPE B13013A4). This is an eagerly awaited instrument for supporters of the deepening of the internal market, but trade unions have some concerns (see EUROPE...
