EFSA publishes opinions on how to improve farm animal welfare

On Wednesday 7 September, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published five opinions with ideas to improve the welfare of farm animals, including transport time.

The opinions were requested by the European Commission to help it prepare its proposal, due in the second half of 2023, to revise EU legislation on animal welfare. This reform is foreseen in the EU’s ‘Farm to Fork’ strategy (see EUROPE B12995A12).
