European Commission orders 170,920 additional doses of monkeypox vaccine

07/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Wednesday 7 September the purchase of an additional 170,920 doses of Imvanex (see EUROPE 12998/24) monkeypox vaccine developed by Bavarian Nordic A/S. They should be delivered before the end of the year. This new order by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) for the new EU Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA) brings the total number of vaccine doses ordered at EU level for Member States to 334,540. The European Commission announced that shipments to Member States, Norway and Iceland will continue in the coming months. (EV)
