07/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 5 September, Eurospace published a position paper in which the organisation lists a series of measures to mitigate the effects of inflation on the European space industry. Among these measures, Eurospace suggests that contracts should be indexed to the rate of inflation and that the contributions of European Space Agency (ESA) Member States should also be indexed. It is understood that this is because the cost of inflation for the industrial sector could be as much as €750 million in 2023. The industry is also concerned that the current crisis and inflation will undermine the budgetary ambitions of ESA Member States at the EU Council meeting in November (see EUROPE 13015/18).
