Social network Instagram fined €405 million for processing data of minors in EU

Brussels, 06/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – The Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) fined the social network Instagram €405 million on Friday 2 September for breaches in the handling of data of minors in the EU. The DPC, which is in charge of the case, opened an investigation at the end of 2020 to examine the measures implemented by the Meta Group’s subsidiary to protect the data of its users, particularly minors.
