19/07/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission is preparing an implementing Regulation to further harmonise pesticide labelling requirements in the EU and improve risk communication to end-users of pesticides. This initiative is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2023 and “will ensure implementation of safety precautions and risk-prevention and risk-mitigation measures to protect human health, animal health and the environment”, the EU institution said on 19 July. This implementing Regulation will amend Commission Regulation EU/547/2011 which was adopted under Regulation 1107/2009 (the so-called ‘Pesticides Regulation’) which provides a framework for the placing of plant protection products on the market in the EU.
