15/07/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission launched, on Thursday 14 July, a new ‘EU Award for Gender Equality Champions’ to encourage research organisations and higher education institutions to promote gender equality. The initiative is part of the European Research Area. The award consists of three categories: one that will reward two organisations that are working in a sustainable way for gender equality, one category that will reward an organisation that has recently implemented measures for gender equality, and one that will reward an organisation that has implemented the most inclusive measures. Applications for the new prize are open until 13 October to research organisations and higher education institutions in the European Union and third countries associated with Horizon Europe.
