13/07/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 13 July, MEPs on the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (‘ITRE’) approved the report by Bart Groothuis (Renew Europe, Dutch) on the revision of the ‘NIS’ Directive, which aims to ensure a high level of cybersecurity throughout the EU (see EUROPE 12977/21). As a reminder, the Council of the EU and Parliament reached a provisional political agreement on the revision of this Directive on 12 May (see EUROPE 12952/1). This future ‘NIS 2’ Directive should, among other things, make it possible to increase the capacity to respond to cyber security incidents in the public and private sectors. (TM)
