09/05/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 9 May, Euratex, the European Apparel and Textile Organisation, launched an EU-Ukraine Textile Initiative –EUTI) to support cooperation between European and Ukrainian companies in the sector in the short and medium term. The initiative provides a single point of contact for Ukrainian companies seeking to develop cooperation with European businesses. This service will be managed by Euratex in close collaboration with UKRLEGPROM, the Ukrainian association of textile and leather companies. The Union exported around €1.3 billion in the field of textiles and clothing to Ukraine in 2021, making the latter country the EU’s 13th export market. For its part, Ukraine exported the equivalent of €500 million to the EU, its 21st export market, in the same sector. (PH)
