MEPs of the European Parliament’s Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI), voted in favour of an EU-wide energy efficiency improvement target of at least 45% by 2030 (compared to anticipated consumption in 2030 in a 2007 baseline scenario) on Thursday 28 April, adopting the draft opinion of Eleonora Evi (Greens/EFA, Italy) on the revision of the EU energy efficiency directive (47 votes in favour, 30 against and 9 abstentions).
