The European Commission announced on Tuesday 19 April the adoption of a partnership agreement with Germany in the framework of the 2021-2027 cohesion policy.
The partnership agreement covers an investment effort of more than 20 billion euros and thus opens the implementation of 52 operational programmes, 31 regional programmes, 2 national programmes and 19 Interreg programmes.
The focus will be, unsurprisingly, on greening the economy, research and innovation (30% of total investment), social cohesion (over 30%), and greater citizen involvement.
The agreement concerns four cohesion policy funds: the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), the Just Transition Fund, and the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF).
This is the second partnership agreement adopted after the Greek one (see EUROPE 12906/13), said the Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, Elisa Ferreira. The Lithuanian partnership is likely to be adopted this week, we are told. (Original version in French by Pascal Hansens)
