REACT-EU, introduction of a unit cost of €40 to meet basic needs of refugees fleeing Ukraine

The European Commission presented new measures on Friday 1 April to simplify and speed up the use of European cohesion policy funds to finance the reception of refugees in EU Member States who have fled the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

This legislative proposal, which amends the recent ‘CARE+’ proposal on the pre-financing of the REACT-EU initiative (see EUROPE B12918A7), introduces a unit cost - set at €40 per week - that EU countries can use to cover the basic needs (food, shelter,...
