22/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – Labour “costs” are up by 1.9% annually in the euro area and by 2.3% at EU level in the fourth quarter of 2021 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, according to the latest figures from Eurostat, the EU’s statistical office, published on Friday 18 March. In other words, workers’ pay has improved. In the euro area, hourly wages and salaries rose by 1.5% and non-wage costs by 3.4%, while in the EU they increased by 2% and 3.6% respectively. (PH)
