08/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 4 March, the European Commission opened a call for contributions to prepare a recommendation on minimum income in relation to the European pillar of social rights. The aim is to guarantee, in accordance with principle 14 of the European pillar of social rights, minimum income benefits that ensure a dignified life for the beneficiaries. The Commission specifies that these benefits must, in certain cases, be combined with incentives to re-enter the labour market. The call for papers is open until 1 April. This is a response to the request of several Member States, including Portugal, Spain and Italy (see EUROPE 12484/30) and the European Parliament (see EUROPE 11872/21).
