07/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 4 March the European Commission unveiled a secure and anonymous online tool allowing anyone in the world to report any kind of past, current or planned violation of EU sanctions against natural or legal persons. Managed by the EU institution itself, this tool covers the forty EU sanctions regimes in place, which include asset freezes and/or EU exclusion orders for individuals, as well as arms embargoes, import and export restrictions and restrictions on the provision of commercial and financial services. If the Commission considers the information provided by a whistleblower to be credible, it may, after internal investigation, communicate this information to the competent authorities of the Member States.
