European Commission proposes to integrate EU/UK fishing opportunities into 2022 TAC regulation

The European Commission adopted a proposal on Wednesday 16 February to implement the total allowable catches (TACs) and quotas agreed for 2022 between EU countries and the United Kingdom in the EU legal order.

The proposal amends the 2022 regulation on fishing opportunities in the Atlantic, Channel and North Sea (see EUROPE B12879A25).

On 21 December 2021, the EU reached an agreement with the UK to set a large number of TACs for 2022 for species under shared management (see EUROPE...
