14/01/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 14 January, the European Commission authorised €250 million in French support to compensate companies in the agricultural processing and marketing sector whose supply of raw materials has suffered from the areas affected by the frost episodes (April 2021), such as independent winegrowers, wine cooperatives, fruit shippers, and companies processing products with geographical indications. The support will take the form of direct grants. In particular, the Commission found that the extent of the negative economic impact of the April 2021 freezes on the sector concerned is such as to justify compensation for the damage suffered by downstream companies.
