04/01/2022 (Agence Europe) – The Pharmaceutical Group of the EU (PGEU) is calling for more resources to be allocated to the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and for it to play a greater role in coordinating the activities of Member States in preventing and managing shortages of medicines, in a position paper on the revision of the General Pharmaceutical Legislation (see EUROPE 12690/10) published on Tuesday 4 January. To this end, the association calls for the creation of a centralised European monitoring system to anticipate shortages of all medicines in the EU. It also calls for a European mechanism for the fair redistribution of medicines within the European market and between Member States. To consult the position paper: https://bit.ly/3ERAzrR (PH)
