04/01/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission adopted, on Tuesday 4 January, a proposal for a new Macro-Financial Assistance (MFA) operation of up to €150 million for Moldova, out of which up to €30 million would be provided in grants and up to €120 million in medium-term loans at favourable financing conditions. The objective is to support the Moldovan economy over the next two years as a complement to the IMF programme approved on 20 December 2021. This assistance must be adopted by the European Parliament and the EU Council before it can enter into force and payments can be made. The assistance will be paid in three instalments between 2022 and 2024. (CG)
