EU renews anti-dumping duties on Chinese wire rod

On Wednesday 13 October, the European Commission renewed, by means of an implementing regulation, anti-dumping duties on imports of Chinese wire rod (steel wire coil). Definitive tariffs were introduced in 2016 for a period of five years.

Following a review covering the period from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020, the European Commission concluded that the applicable anti-dumping measures should be maintained.

Customs duties stand at 24%, except for the Valin Group, which benefits from a rate of 7.9%. The latter, which is linked to the Arcelor Mittal group, has declared that it no longer produces large quantities of wire rod.
