RENEW group in European Parliament calls for immediate increase of €4 billion from EU for Covax to help vaccinate globe

The Renew Europe group in the European Parliament expressed its wish on Thursday 9 September that the EU immediately increase its support for Covax, the WHO/GAVI/CEPI mechanism for equitable access to Covid-19 vaccines, by €4 billion, using the emergency cushion of the Neighbourhood/Development/International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI) in the 2022 draft budget plan. 

The group suggests that the €4 billion be taken from the €9.5 billion emergency cushion. An amendment to this effect...
