Brussels, 06/07/2021 (Agence Europe) – The EPP group in the European Parliament could welcome, on 7 July, two new MEPs who have left the Italian Lega party, a source said on 6 July. The two elected representatives in question are Luisa Regimenti and Lucia Vuolo. A vote will take place on Wednesday 7 July in the evening at the group meeting. In order to be accepted, these two women have had to sign the EPP’s declaration of values, under the new internal rules of procedure that had triggered the departure of the 12 Fidesz members, and their dedication to European vales was reviewed. Two other Italians had joined the group in April, Isabella Adinolfi and Andrea Caroppo. With these two additional women, the group would grow to 179 members. (SP)
