15/06/2021 (Agence Europe) – Contrary to what we wrote in our 14 June article on the Employment and Social Policy Council (EPSCO) (see EUROPE 12740/15), Finland has not expressed a preference for a recommendation instead of a framework directive on European minimum wages. However, the Finnish minister asked for a clear focus on the directive and insisted on: - respect for the Finnish social system; - the independence of social partners; - the need not to create individual rights; - the importance of not overburdening administrations in monitoring the implementation of the Directive.
